GENESIS
Kendriya Vidyalaya Digapahandi was started in the year 2010 as a civil sector school with Shift-I. It is functioning in temporary premises at Old Khemundi College, Digapahandi-761012, Ganjam, Odisha. In the year 2010 it was started as a single section school from classes I to V, which gradually grew.

On the momentous occasion of Foundation Day 2024 of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), I extend my heartfelt greetings to each one of you. From its humble beginnings in 1963, KVS has grown into an inspiring institution of excellence in school education. This remarkable journey continues to evolve, driven by an unwavering spirit of innovation and progress.

I feel indeed privileged and proud to invite you to the website which stands as a threshold of KVS to enable us to spread our goals as per the rapidly changing pedagogical practices in school education.. Also is is a fortified bridge linking all the concerned associated with the school education to work together in this noble endeavour in the field of school education. We in the Bhubaneswar region provide a grand platform to the students through a wide spectrum of activities to nurture their talents and have their skills beyond the classroom walls in order to prepare them to serve this great country. I am confident that with the combined efforts of our hard working and dedicated employees, stakeholders, blessings and guidance of our patrons and the eternal inspiration of our Commissioner, we will continue to evolve consistently. Today KVS is proud to serve its huge student community numbering well over one million. Though the enormity of the task is certainly challenging, what stands out in KVS is the quality of its service rendered in the growth of the personality of its students. We all have been leading our offices to the best of our capability, though the challenges are still increasing. The biggest challenge is providing quality Education to children who have been entrusted to us. I understand that Education is not confined to academics alone. It is indeed our responsibility to cater to the development of Physical, Mental, Social, Cultural and Spiritual aspects of the children. And I am sure we will do our best in the noble cause of strengthening the nation.

Learning through activities, discovery and exploration in a child friendly and child centered manner” has changed teacher’s role from “rage on the stage” to “guide on a side”. In the new era the school has become a place which fosters an enabling environment for development of individual competencies. We are "Committed to provide quality education in safe environment through involvement and dedication." We at this KV are striving hard to provide that environment to the students through specially designed activities to help them realize their potential to the fullest extent and contribute usefully and effectively to the community. so that when they pass out, they are not mere literates but educated in the real sense of the term. The vidyalaya provides many platforms which helps the children to come out with many creative ideas in the field of drawing, painting, short stories, poems etc. To inculcate reading habits, class libraries have been introduced in Primary and we are trying our level best to adopt CCE in its true spirit. For the better future of children, parents and teachers must join hands and give a positive feedback so that every child can be an asset to the society. In this context I wish to thank The KVS, our VMC, parents and local community for giving us a wholehearted support in our endeavours without which the task would not have been so easily accomplished.
